Ajcon IT.com Ltd a Mumbai based IT Solution Company has launched in the city of Mumbai an online Public Interest Platform (PIP) christened as CivicSense, the first of its kind in India.

Civicsense.com is an online platform being designed & developed to help citizens to list their complaints, grievances, suggestions & submissions on any Civic matter.

The idea was conceived by Mr. Ashok Kumar Ajmera, Chairman Ajcon Group of Companies, a well known Chartered Accountant, Capital Market Expert & Social Worker way back in early 2000 and the work on the Portal / Service is on since then. The project is fully supported by “I Love Mumbai” Committee of Shri Nana Chudasama and “Citizens Council for a Better Tomorrow” (CCBT) of Shri F. T. Khorakliwalka and a host of NGO’s viz. Lions, Rotary, Jaycees, Giants, etc.

The concept of this Mega civic project received tremendous response & encouragement from the leaders of the Society and great Social Workers viz. Nana Chudasama (Former Sheriff  of Mumbai), Shri F.T. Khorakliwalka (Former Sheriff  of Mumbai), Mr. G. P. Gupta – Former Chairman of IDBI & host of other dignitaries. Infact Lion Ashok Mehta – the Sheriff of Mumbai who has accepted the responsibility to be the chief coordinator of this online service and Mr. Nana Chudasama will personally ensure speedy and effective redressal of Citizens Complaints / Grievances listed through this Internet site by the respective departmental heads in Mumbai.

The Sheriff has signed a Proclamation endorsing the service and has appealed to all citizens and Civic/Govt. Officials to provide full support to this platform.

The project has also received good backing and support from the people in high offices both in Government & Private Sector.

A survey conducted by Ajcon IT has revealed that more than 70% of the citizens are affected by the day-to-day civic problems and are eager to use such a platform to list their grievances, complaints and suggestions.

This portal covers the entire gamut of civic services, which are divided into almost 50 departments / sections. Viz.  Bribery, Bureaucracy, Piracy, Roads, Trains, Buses, Taxies, Rickshaws, Water, Sewage, Environment, Pollution, RTO, Traffic jams, Hospitals, Health Care Centres, Universities (Schools & Colleges), Hotels, Restaurants, Gardens, Sports, Drug Abuse, Ambulance Services, cleanliness drives, etc. the information section of the portal is also very strong.

In order to list the complaints / suggestions, a person has to register himself / herself free of cost and then lodge the complaint under the respective category. A nominal fee of Rs.10/- per complaint is contemplated to take care of administrative cost and contribution to the affiliated charitable organisations.

To encourage citizens becoming more responsible towards the society and to make the civic officials feel happy and proud by rendering dedicated services, an award and recognition scheme has been devised where a panel of eminent socially conscious people on quarterly basis will select the names of such responsible citizens & civic officials. Those selected through this process will be honored with a certificate of “outstanding contribution” towards society welfare & lots of sponsored gifts in the presence of top Government & Private sector dignitaries in the respective states and cities.

DETAILS OF THE PROJECT

The company proposes to establish a portal with online grievances / suggestions kiosks for citizens. The portal would be a Link between the citizens and the civic authorities. The main module of the portal is workable in any city anywhere in the World.
The project infact has already begun in its trade name “CivicSense”
CivicSense website will provide the most comprehensive information, and the most user-friendly approach to citizens to spell out their grievances / suggestions and get appropriate solutions.

Online transfer of problems by citizens to the respective of civic departments and get a satisfactory solution shall be the major thrust area of the web site.

Main objective of the web site are as follows:

1. Provide basic information required by a citizen all under one name.
2. Provide a link between citizens and the civic authorities / government to convey their problems, grievances, thoughts or suggestions for the betterment of the society as a whole.
3. To make people aware of the social events and engagements to be held in the city.
4. To enable citizens to perform their duties and exercise their rights towards the society.
5. To create a platform for citizens to come up and spell out thoughts & ideas.

RATIONALE BEHIND THE PROJECT

Every Citizen positively undergoes various troubles, problems in his daily routine for which he needs a platform for redressal of his complaints and grievances. The responsible citizen also has various suggestions to pass on to the authorities to make the city a better place to live.In view of this need, the promoters felt it necessary to establish such a facility, which would for anyone at anytime be useful to a great extent.
